This one should be fairly simple based off of the fact that only one person owns this particular Ferrari.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

James Glickenhaus? I don't know why I put a question mark there.

Is that an 8c in the background? And how did you get this picture?

We have met three or four times at various car related events like Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, so I would consider him more of an acquaintance than a friend. Concerning the image, I was deleting some old emails today and found it and thought I would share it with the community. My friend Sam had put me in contact with Jim a few years back since I was considering an 8C at the time and he owned one. To his credit, Jim was really helpful and answered all my questions. Unfortunately, we haven't stayed in contact since then.

He definitely was to me. However, I don't know how much being introduced through a mutual friend helped.

I was lucky enough to see the P4/5 at Quail last year; not my cup of tea..

No time like the present to shoot him a note and re-connect!
Did you have an 8C? If not, what did you buy instead?

It's definitely a unique vehicle that's not for everyone. What do you think about the 8C?

Yeah it might be fun to catch up.
I do not/nor have I owned an 8C. I loved the look of the car but for the money, I just thought I could do better. At the time I was looking at the 8C, the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 came out and I decided that suited me a bit better and ended up buying it. I ended up keeping the 4.0 for about a year and a half before prices went berserk on them and I sold it. Currently, my only sports cars are my 2 GTs and 12C.

It is a stunningly beautiful design. I prefer it to the new Disco Volante that so many went ape about. Good to see you chose substance over style. Hope you don't regret letting the RS 4.0 go. I have one myself (in 1:18 scale, and truth be told, it's my son's).

As do I, but I try to keep my opinions quiet.
I regret it from time to time but am happy that I was simply able to own it at all. The engine in particular was an absolute masterpiece.
Haha. We all have to start somewhere.
How have you been since we last talked?

8C is a truly beautiful car; wish Alfa still made it.

Doing well, trying to keep the stresses at work manageable while transitioning from school year to summer with the kids. Out with soccer and in with swim lessons - always something else. We head to Wisconsin for a big family reunion in a few weeks.
We had a great time at the double-A ballpark in town yesterday. The three of them got to play in the splash pad beforehand, the weather was great, Tulsa's team played well enough to win at the end, had good food and beer, and my oldest got the run the bases afterward. Hard to get back into the grind after an afternoon like that!
How about you?

Haha I remember those days. I'm glad to hear you're getting the whole family together. Definitely moments to cherish.
Well hey, I don't think you could ask for a better day than that.
I've been great. I recently delivered my son's GT-R to him and, in turn, got to spend some much needed time with the grandkids. My oldest grandson is 21 now and is going to be a senior in college next year. Scary to think where all the time goes. Also, I was able to attend the last San Antonio Spurs game that was in SA with some friends, so that's always a fun time. Other than that, I've been working on minor projects for some of my businesses off and on but really just trying to spend more time with the wife and family. In fact, the wife and I are currently planning a trip to Newport, RI, as she loves architecture and wants to see all the mansions up there.

We'll have 25 of us all together in one big cabin, along with many other aunts, uncles and cousins on my dad's side. It's always a good time. I feel truly blessed to be part of a family that enjoys being together.
Congrats on the Spurs heading to the finals again - we've been cheering for the Thunder, but the experience and team play of the Spurs is impressive to watch. Would be good to see them take home another trophy this year (and score one for the old guys!).
Enjoy the trip - hope you get nice weather and smooth sailing along the way.

That's great to hear. I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks. I was really worried after we lost last year but hopefully we can win it all this time around. The Thunder are an amazing team. I think they just need another big man down low with Ibaka and a more consistent bench and they'll be unstoppable.
Thank you. We're both definitely looking forward to it.

My buddy's uncle has an RS 4.0 and he brought it to a track day we were at once. Good lord the sound that thing made. It is the best car exhaust note I think I've ever heard going full tilt around a track.

Very cool. Yeah the engine was quite a thing to behold in all aspects.
